Abstract

This study aims to improve learning outcomes in soccer dribbling and passing through the implementation of the Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) cooperative learning model for grade VII.6 students at SMPN 10 Padang in the 2025/2026 academic year. This study is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects were 30 grade VII.6 students. Data were collected through psychomotor skills tests, including dribbling and passing techniques. The results showed an increase in learning completion in passing skills from 20% in cycle I to 67% in cycle II, a 47% increase. In dribbling skills, learning completion increased from 47% in cycle I to 67% in cycle II, a 20% increase. The average passing skill score also increased from 70.67 in Cycle I to 78.33 in Cycle II. The STAD implementation model proved effective in improving student learning outcomes and engagement through a play-based approach that emphasizes group cooperation. Challenges encountered included students' understanding of psychomotor instructions, but overall, the study proceeded smoothly. This research demonstrates that the STAD cooperative learning model can be an effective alternative for improving soccer learning outcomes in junior high school students
